Hi, I'm Emily
I grew up in Oklahoma, the second of three kids. My Dad was a veterinarian, a Board Certified Equine Surgeon. My brother, sister, and I grew up in and around his clinic, watching procedures, and generally being transfixed by our Dad’s skillful, healing hands. I learned early on that not everyone found the innerworkings of animals as intriguing as I did.
My husband, Jeff, and I met in high school. We’ve been married for 25 years. We have four kids: two college graduates, a sophomore in high school, and a 5th grader. We moved our family to Colorado in 2000. We lived in Superior and Louisville for 16 years before being drawn eastward by Erie’s small town charm five years ago.
I have served on the Board of Directors for The Front Range Center for Assault Prevention for the last 16 years, empowering kids and their communities against sexual assault, bullying, and stranger abduction. I am also on the Board of Trustees for the League of Oil and Gas Impacted Coloradans. I am a former Girl Scout Troop Leader and school library volunteer.
